Case of the Mondays
Tomorrow will be my second Monday back to work since my maternity leave ended. I have not made a lot of progress on Darcy Bloom, and I am disappointed that I haven't made it a bigger priority. Adjusting back to work has been tough, but everyday is difficult knowing that my baby will be in daycare for nearly 10 hours. I am not feeling particularly inspired to write at the moment, but maybe this will remind me of what my mission is here.

Darcy Bloom
So when I thought about what to call this "brand", I wanted to think of something that was meaningful to me and that I loved. One of my favorite movies is Bridget Jones' Diary....so that is the Darcy part of the name (Mark Darcy, Mr. Darcy from Pride and Predjudice), and Bloom is because I love flowers and they make me happy! Darcy Bloom became the name of the business that I had not created and wasn't really even sure of what it would represent. I bought the web address about 2 years ago, and am finally ready to turn it into something.
Introduction
Welcome to my blog! I have always been a person who is not content with what I have today and always looking for what I can accomplish to make a brighter tomorrow for myself. This idea has become my obsession since I had my baby boy in February 2011 and wanting to be home with him without having to worry about where the money will come from. Pretty ridiculous idea these days, and so I want to capture my journey of obtaining this "perfect life". My goal is simple, be home to raise my son while still contributing financially.....but the steps to get there seem impossible to me today. I think of myself as being a talented and creative person and my plan is to develop a lifestyle brand, Darcy Bloom.
